Cosmetic dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry in Greenwich, CT

Cosmetic dentistry works best when it looks like you, only more at ease. We design every case around your face, your age and the way you naturally speak and smile.

Almost everyone who comes in for a cosmetic consultation wants the same thing, described a little differently each time: a smile that looks better, but still looks like their own. Getting there is a matter of proportion, shade and translucency, not simply how white the porcelain can be made.

You see the plan before anything is permanent — shape and length previewed, shade chosen in natural light, and nothing prepared until you are comfortable with exactly what you are getting.

Where to start

Which of these applies to you

You want teeth several shades whiter without changing their shape

Teeth Whitening is the simplest step here, and a reasonable place to start before considering anything more permanent.

Teeth are chipped, worn, gapped or uneven in shape

Porcelain Veneers or Cosmetic Bonding both address shape and proportion; veneers hold their color longer, while bonding is reversible and less costly.

Teeth are crowded or crooked but otherwise healthy

Invisalign & Clear Aligners moves teeth gradually into position, without brackets, before we consider any cosmetic surface work.

You are weighing several changes at once — color, shape and alignment

A Smile Makeover consultation sequences those decisions in the right order, since straightening teeth first can mean less veneer or bonding work later.

Your first appointment

What the first visit involves

A cosmetic consultation is mostly a conversation about the result you actually want, described in plain terms. Better, but not obviously done, is the answer most patients give when asked directly. Dr. Yeterian designs against your face and the way you speak and smile, rather than toward one uniform shade of white.

From there comes a preview: shape and length mocked up, and shade chosen in daylight rather than under the operatory light, so you can see something close to the finished result before any tooth is touched.

Nothing is prepared or made permanent until you have agreed to the plan in front of you, and if a case would be better served by aligners before veneers, or whitening before bonding, we say so, even if it means a slightly longer process.

Who looks after this

Dr. Masis Yeterian Jr. leads cosmetic dentistry, drawing on a laboratory background that places particular weight on how veneers and bonding actually look against your own face rather than a catalog shade.

Q & A

Asked before booking

Rarely, since most plans treat these procedures as elective. We still file what can reasonably be claimed, such as bonding used to repair a chip, and provide a written estimate for the rest before you commit.

These appointments are usually booked a little further out than a cleaning, since the visit runs longer and often includes photographs and a mock-up. Call and we will find the next suitable time.

Whitening and bonding sometimes are, once the adult teeth are fully in. Veneers are generally held off until growth and any orthodontic decisions have settled.

By looking at what is actually changing, whether that is color, shape, alignment or some combination, and by how permanent a change you would like. That conversation, rather than a fixed package, is what the consultation is for.

The initial consultation, including any preview or mock-up, is quoted before you book it. A full plan and its cost, stage by stage, follows in writing once we know what you have decided to have done.
